YOUR VOICE MATTERS. Make an impact.
We are heartbroken at what we are witnessing in Minneapolis and across the lands. It’s a rough start to 2026, and already feels like it’s been a year. We have until January 30th, to make a difference and have our voices heard by those who can do something about it.
We are an organization that uses running and movement to help create change, celebrate and support community, and advocate for the things important to us. We cannot stress this enough - we don’t live in a world where running or movement, isn’t political. There is much privilege in this space where many don’t speak to the injustice and violence we are seeing, not enough race directors, organizers, run groups, and brands not addressing safety for runner’s who may be undocumented, and even for those that are, just being a person of color, poses a risk. As an Indigenous led organization, the detainment of Native / Indigenous / Tribally enrolled members is horrifying to see. Not surprising. But that feeling of this danger, closing in on you and the people you care about, puts things into reality, that we are all NOT untouchable.
Everyone who cares, about basic human rights, law and order, and due process, are not protected. No one is safe. Even when we know our rights, it isn’t enough.
We stand with the people. We stand with our immigrant community who help contribute to the beautiful communities we are part of. We stand against excessive use of violence, against ICE, and we call for justice and accountability that ICE, and those who have allowed ICE to operate with no boundaries, to be held accountable.
Families separated.
Lives stolen because they were murdered.
Misinformation and blatant lies against what we see as the truth right before our eyes.
As we keep seeing all over social media from community, TRUST YOUR EYES. Open your mind and heart. We can show up for each other.
REMINDERS:
You can demand that Congress take action and stop ICE.
+ ICE is not acting like law enforcement, they are improperly trained and abusing the power. Violence, fear, racial profiling and surveillance is leading ICE.
+ Families are separated. Those detained, are disappearing. No consistent communications for loved ones and community to find their family member.
+ Wrongful detentions. Illegal detentions
+ There is no oversight and accountability of ICE and their actions.
+ ICE is operating with complete immunity. This is SCARY! This means that there are no consequences for their actions. And it can set dangerous precedents.
+ ICE is blatantly attacking and discrediting legal observers and media.
We are up to so much and we can’t thank community enough for the support! Our hearts are with community, those on the ground, those marching for justice, those marching in freezing temps, those using their platforms and voices to speak out, and many prayers for families separated, detained, for the lives lost and for their families. We look forward to our hearts moving forward together. To keep fighting for a just and thriving future we want for our children today, for community, and for the next generations.
Justice for Silverio. Justice for Keith. Justice for Liam. Justice for Renee. Justice for Alex. Justice for all the people taken, that are not white, that you’re not hearing about in the news.

REMINDERS FOR RUNNING COMMUNITY
1.) Know Your Rights and actually check in with your vulnerable friends and neighbors and ask them what they need and how you can support them. This includes the people that make your life run smoothly, childcare talent, housekeepers, gardeners, laundromat folk, grocery store folks, BIPOC, LGBTQ trans friends etc).
2.) In your next group run, talk about Emergency Plans of action and even Power of Attorney and how you can build them together for each other. Right now, everyone in the streets needs this and an understanding of safe spaces according to local laws.
3.) If you run a CLUB or RACE check in with the most vulnerable communities and see what you can do to improve your race or running club. It can be as simple as having an emergency plan, a buddy system or even making sure there's a Non Binary category for your race.
4.) Build intentional systems of inclusion, check with the folks with experience in this field, actually hire them don't burden them with 'unpaid advice' List at the end.
5.) Reach out to your local non profit, Shelter, pantry and see what they need? You could plan a running route that collects food for the local pantry, or shoes for the shelter or perhaps whistle distribution? You can gamefy it even. Maybe a Bingo card to build comraderie within running friends.
6.) Don’t just run, use your power and your voice to fundraise, highlight, share what will build change.
7.) Local patrol 1 c. e. Some folks around the country are making sure their streets are as calm as ever and if not, they can contact the Rapid Response hot line to report a sighting. Get trained.
8.) Listen to the people that have been in this field for a while and have lived experiences, invite them to your podcasts, newsletter, and events.
9.) Give yourself grace and be a good Ally!
MUCH LOVE and appreciation to our friend and sister for providing this list of ways to support and learn.

2.) Stand with Minnesota
Minnesota is under occupation by federal agents from ICE and CBP, and we need your support.
Across Minnesota, ICE continues to stop, harass, and detain people regardless of their citizenship status. Normal life in Minnesota has been interrupted, as schools have been forced to close or go virtual, as people live in fear of leaving their homes or going to work. Minnesotans are organized and activated to respond to this violence. But they need our help.
This directory of places to donate to all comes from activists on the ground, plugged into the situation. Everything is vetted, with the exception of individual GoFundMes (not everyone is in our networks, and we don’t want to pick and choose who is worthy of help.)
If you don’t have resources to give, please amplify what you are hearing and seeing about Minnesota, across social media, but also to your networks, friends, and family offline.
Read our testimonies and know what life is like in Minnesota right now.
Overwhelmed by the amount of listings here? Donate to UNIDOSMN (an immigrant-run organization getting things done on the ground), Immigrant Law Center of MN, who is providing assistance to hundreds of people with families detained by ICE, or the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund, a fund assembled by a coalition of Twin Cities Foundations committed to getting assistance out the door as quickly as possible.

Senator _ [Your Rep.],
I am a constituent from __ [city, state], and l urge you to oppose any funding for ICE and CBP in the Homeland Security appropriations bill. To dissolve ICE, defund ICE, and remove them from our communities.
Congress should not continue to expand detention, surveillance, or enforcement programs that harm immigrant, Tribal, and people of color communities. I will be following how you vote on this issue during this crucial time in our history, where we will be asked, how did we respond to this? Could we have done something more?
Thank you for your time and consideration.

MONARCA RAPID RESPONSE LINE
Our protection is our power. Monarca is a coalition of thousands of workers, students, people of faith, parents, clergy, business owners, teachers, caregivers, and young people. We are a movement that has trained over 20,000 everyday Minnesotans as neighborhood observers to help protect people’s rights where it matters most—on the ground, in our communities.
We stand for the fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, including free speech, peaceful protest, and protection from unreasonable searches and seizures. These rights are the backbone of a healthy democracy—they’re about dignity, privacy, and safety in our own homes and neighborhoods.
We keep us safe. We are the light.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
“All people in the United States, regardless of immigration status, have certain rights and protections under the U.S. Constitution. The Know Your Rights Red Cards were created to help people assert their rights and defend themselves against constitutional violations. Knowing and asserting rights can make a huge difference in many situations, such as when ICE agents go to a home. Red cards provide critical information on how to assert these rights, along with an explanation to ICE agents that the individual is indeed asserting their rights.”
